Eclectica: When Genres Collide (1-1)

GOOD and EVIL, LIGHT and SHADOW have forever waged a war against one another.  The fighting has been portrayed in books, through song, on painted canvas and even in motion pictures.  This tale revolves around a different medium, a fledgling enterprise known as the VIDEO GAME.

But, like many stories of good versus evil, this one starts with a prophecy.  Shadowy figures gaze into a glowing crystal ball.  They look for a hero to help turn the tide of this eternal struggle.

His name was Maxwell Collins (the fat guy on the left).  He spent his days toiling away as a retailer in a small Mid-American town.  Selling, buying and trading video games was his trade.  But, he longed for something more.

Maxwell longed for a different life.  A life full of adventure, danger and meaning.  Perhaps that is why he so loved video games.  For, in a game, he could be anything or anyone he wanted.  It was a poor substitute to the life he longed for but it was something at least.
